A characterful 17th century inn, built with impressive Ditcheat red brick, and featuring flagstone floors, exposed beams and roaring log fires. Set in a village famous for horse racing, it was acquired in April 2024 by Salisbury-based Chickpea (gastro)pub group, who own several pubs in the Wiltshire area. It has been extensively refurbished and was re-opened on Feb 1st, 2025. Featuring (up to) three ales from local and regional brewers; usually Rude Giant and St Austell. It was originally owned by the Lord of the Manor, Edmund Dawe, and was called The White Heart, but by 1861 had become known as The Manor House Inn. Included in Sunday Times (10 March 2025) "100 Best Places to Stay in the UK for 2025".
