  • Horse and Groom, & Crown, Westbury Thursday 19 February 2026 19:30 Horse & Groom

    A trip to Westbury to visit two pubs which re-opened in the last year, the Horse and Groom, and the Crown.

    The Horse and Groom is a large pub on the north-eastern edge of the town centre. There are two separate bars, one of which is essentially a restaurant. Yet to be fully surveyed.

    Just down the road on the market place is the Crown, a friendly two bar Wadworth's local situated in the market square. Also yet to be re-surveyed.

  • Good Beer Guide 27 (GBG27) Selection Meeting Thursday 26 February 2026 19:30 Bath Brew House

    The meeting to select Bath & Borders pubs for GBG27, in the Tankroom in Bath Brew House.

  • George Inn, Longbridge Deverill Tuesday 3 March 2026 19:30 George Inn

    The George has a traditional look and a relaxed atmosphere. The many areas cater well for both drinkers and diners, it's free of tie, and selling two guest ales most of the time, including from Dark Star, and Flack Manor breweries.

  • The Hop Pole, Limpley Stoke Thursday 12 March 2026 19:30 Hop Pole

    The Hop Pole is an historic village pub saved from closure by a community buyout and restored by a huge volunteer effort! The interior has been sensitively refurbished and extended with a traditional bar to the right and a dining area to the left. There is a real focus on supporting local producers and suppliers with two, maybe three changing guest ales from small independent breweries in Somerset, Wiltshire and beyond.

  • The Stallards, and Rose & Crown, Trowbridge Tuesday 17 March 2026 19:30 Stallards

    Two pubs in Trowbridge, close to the Rail station, on the edge of the town centre. Both pubs have been refurbished within the last year or so.

    The Stallards reopened, under new management, in April '24 after a period closed for a refurb. They now have two changing real ales on and look to have more at some point in the future.

    The GBG listed Rose & Crown, a few minutes away from the Stallards, has also recently been refurbished, and normally has two to three ales on.

  • King William, Combe Down, Bath Thursday 26 March 2026 19:30 King William

    Tucked away in a cul-de-sac, the King William is a well-proportioned pub with its impressive porch, built by Job Salter in 1824 for quarrymen at a time when Bath stone was extensively mined in the local area. It has a staircase leading directly into the underground quarry from a cellar that has now been restored and opened out for additional seating. At least 2 real ales and up to 8 local "craft" beers/lagers and a few local ciders can be on.

  • The Oakhill Inn, Oakhill, Somerset Tuesday 31 March 2026 19:30 Oakhill Inn

    The Oakhill Inn is a large village-centre pub that is both a popular local and a family-friendly gastro-pub, with a strong emphasis on organic and locally sourced food. The bar serves two areas with an open feel. Up to three changing guest ales, normally sourced from local and regional micros, plus at least 2 real ciders are on offer.

  • The Duke at Bratton Thursday 9 April 2026 19:30 Duke

    The Duke is a lovely 18th century traditional country pub that was originally three cottages, so plenty of room for a pint or two. There is a separate restaurant and a front bar at the left. At the back there is a large garden, with plenty of seating and tables, it is entered by walking under two whale bones.

    There are usually two or three ales on from local brewer Moonraker.

  • The White Hart, Trudoxhill Tuesday 14 April 2026 19:30 White Hart

    The White hart is s Grade II listed pub dating from 1625. Friendly and welcoming, and very much at the heart of the village. The guest beer is quite often from a smaller west country brewer.

    It was once the village blacksmith and is a warren of small rooms with stone walls and low beams. During WW2 It was used by American GI's from local bases as a dance hall.

  • The Curfew, Bath Thursday 23 April 2026 19:30 Curfew

    The Curfew is a busy and popular rugby-oriented pub, on the outskirts of the city centre, with an upstairs dining room decorated in the modern wine bar pastel. Previously a Wadsworth pub it re-opened in Sep 2023 and usually features two regular ales and up to three guests.

  • Dog and Fox, Bradford-on-Avon Tuesday 28 April 2026 19:30 Dog & Fox

    The Dog & Fox is a traditional family run pub on the northern edge of town, overlooking open countryside. There are two bars, one an old fashioned small snug, the other, larger, for both dining and drinking. Around three ales usually on.
