  • The Griffin, Frome Thursday 6 November 2025 19:30 Griffin

A trip to the Griffin in Frome. Situated in the Trinity area, the Griffin was formerly the brewery tap for Milk Street (now Frome) brewery, which has moved to the outskirts of the town. Up to three Frome ales and guests, as well as a range of craft beers and ciders. The main bar retains some original features such as etched windows and wooden floor, but the stained glass Griffin behind the bar is, in fact, relatively new.

  • Kettlesmith Brewing Beer Festival Saturday 8 November 2025 12:00 Kettlesmith Brewery

Kettlesmith Brewing are going to hold an extra beer fest on Saturday 8th November, starting at 12 noon, through to 7pm, at the brewery in B-on-A.

All the usual goodies - food, music, much beer and other drinks.

It’s partly to celebrate their expansion into the next door unit. This will mean that even if it’s wet on the day they’ll have a large indoor seating area to keep people dry and (fairly) warm!

  • The Raven, Bath Tuesday 11 November 2025 19:30 Raven

The Raven is a very popular and busy eighteenth-century free house in the heart of Bath. Extended into adjacent premises over the summer of 2022, now boasting four bars in six rooms across three floors. Up to ten ales on offer, with the guests coming from far and wide. The two 'House' beers are brewed exclusively by local brewery Blindmans.

Some Committee members will be present and can discuss the Somerset committee roles that need to be filled subsequent to creation of the West-Wilts sub-branch that the National Executive have directed be created .

  • The Royal Oak, Hawkridge, Wilts Thursday 20 November 2025 19:30 Royal Oak

Tucked away in a 'cul-de-sac' village, the Royal Oak is a free house with normally two ales on, usually including one from (very) local brewer Twisted. The pub has the original flagstone floor in the bar and comfortable snugs. Around the walls is a fascinating collection of photos & drawings of comedy stars from the past such as Tommy Trinder, Arthur Askey, and Harry H Corbett & Wilfred Brambell.

A Branch meeting and social at the Lamb Inn in Trowbridge , to discuss the setting up of the new Wiltshire sub-branch of Bath and Borders branch of CAMRA. It will be in the pub's function room. More details to follow.

  • The Hop Pole, Limpley Stoke Thursday 4 December 2025 19:30 Hop Pole

The Hop Pole is an historic village pub saved from closure by a community buyout and restored by a huge volunteer effort! The interior has been sensitively refurbished and extended with a traditional bar to the right and a dining area to the left. There is a real focus on supporting local producers and suppliers with two, maybe three changing guest ales from small independent breweries in Somerset, Wiltshire and beyond.

  • Dandy Lion & Stumble Inn, Bradford-on-Avon Thursday 11 December 2025 19:30 Dandy Lion

A (very) short crawl in Bradford-on-Avon, on Market Street, starting at the newly reopened Dandy Lion, and then just up the hill to, an old favourite, the Stumble Inn.

The Dandy opened again, under new management, on 4th of Sept, and is a smart town centre pub, selling Wadworth's beers, plus a range of wines and spirits. The bar area is downstairs and there is an upstairs seating / dining area.

The Stumble is a characterful micropub opened in Oct 2017 in the ground floor of what was a local club in the town centre. The main bar is in the back room with a good-sized comfortable room at the front overlooking the street. There is a changing range of up to four beers, with two on handpump and one or two on gravity, usually from local West Country breweries

  • Charmbury Arms & Royal Oak, Twerton, Bath Tuesday 16 December 2025 19:30 Charmbury Arms

Two Good Beer Guide pubs a few minutes walk away from each other! The Charmbury Arms and the, multi award winner, Royal Oak, in Twerton, Bath.

The Charmbury is a friendly and busy traditional, independent, wet-led freehouse, usually with three well-kept beers, on a quiet street, Brook Road, near Oldfield Park train station. Note that it is currently cash only, no credit/debit cards.

Just three minutes away, the Royal Oak has become a real beer haven (or heaven). They began brewing their own beer in Ralph's Ruin brewery in the old pub kitchen Jun 2017. There are normally two or three, maybe even four, of their own beers, together with an ever changing range of up to six guest beers from microbreweries, near and far, alongside an equally interesting range of ciders, perries and bottled British and Belgian beers.

  • The Bell, Standerwick , & The Full Moon, Rudge Thursday 8 January 2026 19:30 Bell

A trip to the Wilts & Somerset border between Westbury and Frome, first, to visit the Bell at Standerwick, and then on to the Full Moon at Rudge, three minutes drive away, up the lane.

The Bell has been here since at least 1881 and legend has it that hangings took place across the road from the pub. Recently acquired by Abbey Ales, used to be two beers on, so we shall see....

The Full Moon is a large friendly village free house. It was acquired in October 2019 and underwent 'a gentle renovation', sympathetic to its 400 year old history as a cider farm. One real ale on, changing on a weekly basis.
