CAMRA publishes it's Good Beer Guide (GBG) every Autumn. The Bath and Borders Branch monitors beer quality in pubs across our branch area in the preceding year and in late Spring selects some pubs for inclusion in the guide (e.g. pubs included in the 2024 Guide published in Sep 2023 - would have been monitored from Spring 2022 to late Spring 2023 ).

The process draws heavily on National Beer Scoring System beer scores submitted by members throughout the year, if you arent familiar with beer scoring full details are here :- CAMRA Beer Scoring Guide.

The key point is that it's difficult to recommend a pub for inclusion if it has no or very few beer scores. So if you want to influence GBG selection PLEASE BEER SCORE it's easy !

Note that to keep the size of the book manageable (and affordable) each Branch has a maximum allocation - if a pub isnt the guide that doesnt mean its a "bad" pub , many pubs serving good ale miss out - only the very good make the cut.
