Pub of the Year 2023

Raven presentation.

It was a case of deja vue when the Bath & Borders Branch of CAMRA presented the Branch Pub of the Year certificate to The Raven in Bath on the evening of Thursday 13th April. The branch selects a City pub of the year and a Rural pub of the year, one of those becoming the Branch Pub of the Year. The Raven (some may remember it as Hatchetts) on the corner of Queen St and Quiet St is a regular entry in the Good Beer Guide and won the Branch Pub of the Year award in 2006, 2013 and 2018 so the award ceremony was on familiar territory. One notable change since 2018 is the substantial sideways and upward expansion, the pub now has four bars across three floors, typically offering nine ales. The Royal Oak on Lower Bristol Rd is the only other pub to win Branch Pub of the Year four times since 2000.

The certificate for Rural Pub of the Year was presented on 27 April to Fox & Hounds in Warminster. As you can probably see from the photo this wasnt the first award for The Fox & Hounds either with four previous awards.

Well done, again !
