Charmbury Arms & Royal Oak, Twerton, Bath

Tuesday 16 December 2025 19:30

Two Good Beer Guide pubs a few minutes walk away from each other! The Charmbury Arms and the, multi award winner, Royal Oak, in Twerton, Bath.

The Charmbury is a friendly and busy traditional, independent, wet-led freehouse, usually with three well-kept beers, on a quiet street, Brook Road, near Oldfield Park train station. Note that it is currently cash only, no credit/debit cards.

Just three minutes away, the Royal Oak has become a real beer haven (or heaven). They began brewing their own beer in Ralph's Ruin brewery in the old pub kitchen Jun 2017. There are normally two or three, maybe even four, of their own beers, together with an ever changing range of up to six guest beers from microbreweries, near and far, alongside an equally interesting range of ciders, perries and bottled British and Belgian beers.
