A short crawl of the two pubs in Castle Cary, starting at the White Hart , and then on to the George Hotel . The White Hart is a mix of new and old (the pub dates from 1859), the modern bar frontage of this lively pub is a contrast to the wooden ceiling beams in the front area, which has a real fire and soft seating. Behind the bar, in a separate area, there is further seating leading to an outside patio with picnic seats.

The George Hotel is a friendly, independently run, thatched 15th century hotel which is situated in the historic town centre. The main bar has an original inglenook fireplace with an elm beam said to date back to the 10th century, while the rear bar provides a contemporary alternative.
